An Update Before Dinner

The stone fruit this year is just incredible. Before I chow down on these peach from Twin Peaks Orchards, I thought I'd write an update on the past week.
Sunday - Mt. Hamilton Road Race. The results speak for themselves. This was not my day.
This race requires going good from the gun, and I was not going good. I felt much better later on, and it was a stunningly beautiful ride! Akira had a great ride to finish 16th.
Tuesday - Twilight Crit - The twilight crits are back on! There has been conflicting rumors on whether or not this series would get cancelled, but thankfully we have still this fun racing for Tuesday night. These flat crits are not my speciality, but it's still fun to go out and hammer with a group of people around and around. This Tuesday, I wanted to get a good workout, so I did lots of time at the front towards the beginning. In the latter half, I made a number of moves. With 3 to go, a break of 4 was up the road by about 8-10 seconds, and I went HARD to bridge across. I wasn't going to make the same mistake I did last time. I made the junction with 1 other rider, which made the break 6. I finished 4th - again. Scott Nydam of Team BMC bridged from the field to pass me in the sprint. Damn, that dude is fast.
Thursday - West County Revolution Meeting - The WCR is on! Sebastopol's full service bike shop is scheduled to open in August or September.
Today - Ross Dillon Hill Climb - Finally some signs of form! I finished 4th today in the race up Pine Flat road, and I feel good about that. I felt like I could push myself and hang with good climbers. Kudos to all the volunteers for putting a wonderful event in Sonoma County!
Now I'm hungry!
